AIR DATE: June 14, 2009
PLOT:
In The Season 2 Opener we start right were we left off in season 1. Tara and Sookie scream at the sight of a body covered with a trash bag in the back of Andy Bellefleur's car. Even though Andy has had way to much to drink he stills takes charge and uncovers the body to reveal it being of Miss Jeanette with her heart ripped from her chest.

When the police arrive, Kenya questions Tara about the victim. Tara denies knowing her but all the while Sookie is listening to her thoughts knowing that Tara is lying. She confronts Tara and consoles her to tell the police that she does in fact know the victim.

Back at the Compton house, Bill lays down some rules for Jessica who obviously does not like. He receives a call from Sookie stating she will be there a bit late due to something happening over at Merlotte's. After hanging up, Bill tells Jessica to go upstairs and clean up and dress presentable so she can meet his awaited guest.

Somewhere in an unknown dungeon, there is Lafayette chained up with other people looking worn and dressed in rags. The door opens and everyone becomes scared and tries to hide. A new prisoner wearing a hood over his head is thrown and chained up with he rest of them only to be revealed as Royce, the red neck that Lafayette hit at Merlotte's.

Back at the station in Bon Temps, Andy, Bud, and Kenya question Tara about her relationship with Miss Jeanette. After recent events with Tara drunk driving and stating that she crashed because of a naked woman and a hog in the middle of the road, Tara's story about the exorcism in the middle of the woods is perceived as another tall tale until Lettie Mae arrives distraught to hear of Miss Jeanette's death. Although Tara tries to explain to her mother that Miss Jeanette was a fraud, Lettie Mae refuses to believe it and still claims that she is healed because of her exorcism.

Maryann arrives to pick up Tara and introduces herself to Lettie Mae then very calmly states " I've always wondered what it would be like to gaze into the eyes of someone so devoid of human compassion that she would abandon her own child when she needed you the most." Not being able to speak, Lettie Mae stands there shocked and Tara leaves with Maryann.

When Sookie arrives at Bill's, she is upset over what had happened at Merlotte's and cuts off Bill's attempt to explain to her about Jessica. Right before she kisses him, Jessica appears out of the bathroom wearing only a towel. Bill then tells Sookie the dealings on how he was forced to turn Jessica as his punishment for killing Long Shadow. Shocked and feeling guilty, Sookie tells Bill that he should have told her instead of concealing it from her and walks out.

Over in Shreveport, Jason attends a prayer breakfast held by the Fellowship of the Sun and meets Rev Newlin and his wife. Jason explains to Newlin that reading their book has been comforting him through his recent difficulties. Steven and Sarah Newlin invite Jason to attend the Light of Day Institute for the cost of only $1,200.00.

Sam pays a visit to Maryann's only to be greeted by her servant Karl. As Karl goes to see about Maryann, Sam notices a statuette and has a flash back when he was 17 and his 1st encounter with Maryann. Snapping out of it, Karl arrives back in the room and tells Sam that Maryann is sleeping. While Sam leaves he notices the giant pig watching him.

Sookie enters Gran's room attempting to start packing everything up as the doorbell rings. The Family Lawyer, Sid Lancaster, has arrived to deliver bad news about her Uncle Bartlett's death, stating that he was found in the creek behind his house. Sid hands Sookie a check for $11,000, Bartlett's entire estate, which he left to Sookie.

Back at Maryann's house, she, Tara, and Eggs lounge outside by the pool having discussions about the Greek god's and Tara's relationship with her mother. While Maryann goes back into the house, Eggs and Tara get a bit cozy together. Right before they are about to kiss, Karl interrupts them to give them towels. When he returns to the house, Maryann smacks him with enough force to knock him down saying "nobody needed towels!"

In the meantime, Jason and Hoyt talk about Rene while they work and Jason informs him about his new self finding in the Fellowship of the Sun. Hoyt not too thrilled on this news trys to understand Jason's explanations. Sookie then drives up to tell Jason about their uncle Bartlett and gives him the check she was left with.

Back at Merlotte's, Sam is in his office daydreaming. Having another flashback, he remembers more of Maryann. His memory is interrupted by a knock on the door. Arlene comes in introducing Daphne who she insists that Sam hires to help Waiting tables.

Later that evening, Maryann shows up in Sam's office. He trys to apologize to her for stealing from her back when he was young and hands her a bag full of money. When she explains that his money is not what she is after, he warns her that he won't let her hurt Tara to get back at him. Maryann laughs and asks him why he thinks this was all about him.

Over at Bill's, He has Jessica try a number of mixtures of True Blood to see which one she would like best. As they seem to have found one, Sookie comes in to talk to Bill. She asks Jessica if she wouldn't mind giving them some privacy, and she agrees. Sookie then confronts Bill about her Uncle Bartlett, asking if he had anything to do with his death. When he admits that he did in fact kill him because of him hurting her, she explains that she can not worry about someone dying because she confides in him. Bill promises he will atone for what he's done and explains that he can not loose her, and that she has awaken feelings inside of him he never though he would be capable to feel again and confesses his Love for her. They head to the bedroom...(need I say more...lol)

Back in the dungeon, Royce and Lafayette talk and Royce claims he is going to try to escape then hears the door open and someone comes down the stairs. It's Eric!! He comes down with foil in his hair and in flip flops to take Royce upstairs for questioning. As he heads up the stairs with his prisoner, Royce attacks Eric by shoving a silver cross into the side of his face. Now severely pissed off, Eric then bites, drains, and rips apart Royce right there as Lafayette witnesses everything and gets splattered by the blood.
