Anna Paquin on Sex with Eric

Anna Paquin has talked about her sex scene with Alexander Skarsgard in "True Blood".

In an panel for the TV series in Los Angeles, the actress explained how her character Sookie Stackhouse is sexually involved with another vampire, Alexander's Eric Northman, beside her lover Stephen Moyer's Bill Compton. "She drank his [Eric's] blood, so now she has really vivid sexual fantasies about him. I guess that's how it works," Anna elaborated.

She then reminded how similar thing happens after Sookie drank Bill's blood, saying "Because in season one after she drinks Bill's blood, she has a moment outside of his house... She's kind of sitting there by herself having a little touch and feel."

Vamp Drama

In terms of ratings, HBO's "True Blood" is starting to look like the "ER" of premium cable.

Alan Ball's vampire soap notched another series record Sunday night, attracting 5.3 million viewers, according to Nielsen data. It's the fifth consecutive week "Blood" has delivered a record performance for HBO.

More impressively, "Blood" saw its numbers soar 20 percent from last week. The series is up more than 30 percent vs. its performance just a month ago, when the July 12 episode averaged 3.9 million viewers.

Most cable shows tend to lose audience after their season premieres, since cable networks soak so much promotional effort into hyping launches.

Even network shows tend to premiere big then fall off a bit as the season wears on.

The exception to this rule is when a new show catches fire with viewers and starts benefiting from buzz and attention. ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," for example, added viewers during its freshman season.

The most famous modern example of a series exploding during its first season, however, is NBC's "ER." After a strong premiere in the fall of 1994, the show kept building steam, setting one Nielsen record after another as it pushed past the fable 40-share mark.

"Blood's" audience is nowhere near that of "ER's," of course, but the show's stunning ratings spike indicates it may be poised to move from cult hit status to genuine pop culture phenom.

Of course, "Blood" still has a ways to go before it matches HBO's signature series, "The Sopranos." At that show's apex, viewer tallies of 11 or 12 million weren't uncommon.

HBO might argue that "Blood" is already coming close, however, when you count replays of the series, DVR viewings and on-demand views. Add up all those platforms, and HBO says "Blood" is averaging 11.6 million viewers this season.

Southern Vampires

True Blood Party Cast Pictures, Images and Photos

Vampires are more in than ever: After the roaring success of the Twilight series, True Blood is having the same effect, only on the small screen.

The HBO series is based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries books, written by Charlaine Harris. She has already penned nine volumes on the series, which looks at the experiences and dark love of Sookie Stackhouse — played by Anna Paquin in the TV series.

Metro World News recently sat down with Harris to talk about the growing interests in TV and film vampires.

Q. You started the Sookie Stackhouse books back in 2001 before the big vampire craze. Why were you interested in vampires, and why have you dedicated a whole series to them?

A. The series is actually about the young human woman who is dating a vampire. I thought that would be a more interesting approach. It seemed to be that it would be interesting to write about characters who are so different from humans, who have seen so much history.

Why do you think the topic of vampires became so popular so sudden?

I am sure the Twilight series had something to do with it, but actually this has been building for the past ten years or so.

You write other series also featuring girls with superpowers. What interests you in these characters?

I don’t really think of them as having superpowers; they have more like a disability. Sookie is telepathic, and that is a great burden. Harper had to be struck by lightning before she became able to find corpses. Though she makes her living doing that, it’s not a pleasant way of life.

What makes a good book for you? What do you like to read in your freetime?

I love to be engrossed in the story the writer is telling. I love to read, and I read many, many writers. I read some mystery, I read some science fiction, I read a little romance and a little non-fiction.

How would your ideal vampire look like? What attracts people in vampires?

I don’t have an ideal vampire. I think people are fascinated by the eternal vigor of vampires, who don’t age.

How much do you read weekly? Where is your ideal reading spot?

I read three or four books a week. I can read anywhere, but I have a comfortable chair in our bedroom and one in our family room; both of these are good for reading.

Interview with Ms. Thornton

Rutina Wesley Pictures, Images and Photos

TRUE BLOOD has lots of sex, lots of blood and lots of characters, but Rutina Wesley’s Tara Thornton is in no danger of getting lost in the crowd. One of the few Bon Temps residents with no supernatural aspects, Tara (best friend of telepathic heroine Sookie Stackhouse, portrayed by Anna Paquin) is nevertheless one of the most complex characters on the show, desperate for affection yet quick to push people away, open to new experiences yet wisely wary, she’s a captivating conundrum, and Wesley plays the hell out of her.

The actress makes time to talk to us during an after-party for the Television Critics Association Awards, where TRUE BLOOD has just won for Outstanding New Program.

iF MAGAZINE: Has Tara changed from what you expected her to be when you got the part?

RUTINA WESLEY: Just for the better. I always thought she was a hard flower, this hard case on the outside with this delicate inside, but they’ve just made her so much more complex, they’ve given her so many layers, I’ve gotten to play so many different emotions. I mean, that’s an actor’s dream. This role is like a Hamlet for me. I think it’s been some of my best work that I’ve done so far, and it’s really nice that I’ve been able to be part of this ensemble, this family. Adina Porter [who plays Tara’s mother] – amazing. Her and Michelle Forbes are two of the most grounded actresses that I’ve ever worked with. They always have my back. Adina – I can’t say anything more to you than ‘phenomenal.’ I love her, I love working with her – she brings out the best in me, I always have to be on top of my game with the both of them. So she’s amazing.

iF: Is it hard to modulate just how open or shut down Tara is at any given moment?

WESLEY: Yeah, it’s a very delicate balance, because I don’t want her to ever be too angry. I want to make sure that she stays soft and real and honest in every situation, so I always play with varying emotions. I just try to keep her real, and the writers give me dialogue that helps me do that.

iF: Tara has gotten herself into a sort of unusual emotional triangle, with her lover Eggs and the outwardly supportive but supernaturally controlling Maryann …

WESLEY: It’s interesting. I think it’s great that Tara has this romance with Eggs, and she’s also taken under the wing of this Maryann character. I mean, she’s never been taken care of. Her whole life, she’s been taking care of someone else. So I think it’s nice to even have that, yet in the back of Tara’s mind, through it all, she’s very cautious about it. But it feels good for now, if that makes any sense.

iF: Tara is one of the few TRUE BLOOD characters who doesn’t have much interaction with the vampires. Do you miss that?

WESLEY: Tara probably doesn’t miss it, because she can’t stand the vamps, because she’s really scared of them, but I sort of miss playing with them, because [the actors are] all sort of in different worlds, and I really wish that I had a little bit more fun with the vampires. I wouldn’t mind being bitten, maybe [laughs].

iF: Well, in the Charlaine Harris books that TRUE BLOOD is based on, Tara eventually gets involved with a vamp.

WESLEY: You never know what’s going to happen. They’ve strayed and they’ve done so much stuff with my character that’s different than the books, but that would be nice. That would be kind of fun, I think.

iF: Now, do you want to get covered with blood or anything like that, or do you feel like, ‘That’s Sookie’s thing, Anna Paquin can do those scenes’?

WESLEY: [laughs] Yeah, I might leave that to my girl Anna, because then you’ve got to do [the blood-covered take] again and again and again and again, but who knows what’s going to happen to my character.

iF: You did have a scene at the beginning of this season with a pretty lifelike corpse. Was that the actress or was that a synthetic body?

WESLEY: They did a body cast of her actual body [and built a corpse from that]. It was pretty amazing, wasn’t it?

iF: Has anything on TRUE BLOOD freaked you out?

WESLEY: The orgy. [laughs] That was the big one for all of us. But we’re all very professional, it’s a safe environment, and everyone really, really likes each other. But it’s hard doing that stuff with fifty people when you’re naked. But we all were there together and we all supported each other, so we made it work.

iF: Have you worked on anything else lately?

WESLEY: I have a guest-star [voice] appearance on THE CLEVELAND SHOW, which is a spin-off of FAMILY GUY. I always love animation, and I’m a huge fan of FAMILY GUY, so I’m really, really excited about it.

iF: And does your character look like you?

WESLEY: You know what? She doesn’t. She has more hips and butt than I do and her name is Yvette and she’s hilarious. She’s the best friend of one of the main characters.

iF: Anything else you’d like to say about TRUE BLOOD or life in general?

WESLEY: Life is good and TRUE BLOOD, it hurts so good. I love that [advertising] line. I’m just happy to be a part of a wonderful show that people are receiving in a beautiful way. People are watching, and so, job well done.

Interview with Anna Camp (Sarah Newlin)

Sarah Newlin Pictures, Images and Photos

HBO's seductive vampire drama series True Blood is positively overflowing with memorable and flawed characters but one of this season's most indelible and dynamic character additions is that of naughty preacher's wife Sarah Newlin, played with delicious aplomb by South Carolina native Anna Camp.

I had the opportunity to catch up with Camp earlier this week in an exclusive interview where we talked about Sarah Newlin, Camp's original audition for True Blood (for the role of Sookie, no less!), the love triangle between Sarah, Jason, and Steve, Sarah's darker side, Camp's theatre work (opposite Daniel Radcliffe in Equus), whether the Newlins are gone for good, Mad Men, and lots more.

So what are you waiting for? Toss your hair, flash your pearly whites, sharpen a stake and let's see what Anna Camp had to say about True Blood.

Televisionary: How did you get involved with True Blood? What sort of audition process did they put you through?

Anna Camp: Actually, I auditioned for Alan [Ball] for the pilot a while ago... for Sookie! (Laughs) And of course didn't get cast. Then a year later when he was looking to cast someone for Sarah, he called me up and offered me the part, which was really exciting. (Laughs) So I didn't have to audition; we just talked on the phone, so it was the best kind of audition in a way.

I just fell in love with the storyline and, being from the South originally, I had to be on this show at some point. It's just so creative and not like anything else on TV right now and I was really glad that he gave me that call.

Televisionary: How familiar were you with Charlaine Harris' novels?

Camp: I had watched the entire first season of the show and fallen in love with it. I wasn't originally acquainted with the books but I did read the first two.

Televisionary: Sarah Newlin seems to be a mass of swirling contradictions. How would you describe your character?

Camp: I think that she is discovering who she is all the time too. She comes in very strong and knowing who she is and believing in God and following her husband. Then she faces all of these situations that he's putting her through and surprising her. She's definitely taken down a journey that she didn't expect to go down. She meets Jason Stackhouse and is thrown off guard by that relationship when she's already doubting her husband and her faith.

She's faced with something that's completely the opposite of what she was brought up to believe and seeing how her husband treated Sookie and seeing he wants to cross the line into killing the vampire sympathizers, that's not something that Sarah wants to do.

She's lost and she's confused. She does believe that everything happens because God is willing it to be. She truly believes that Jason was sent here for her and that's why she's taken aback in Episode Seven when she believes that he was a spy. She's definitely confused and lost right now.

Anna about being a Vamp Girlfriend

Sookie Pictures, Images and Photos

LOS ANGELES – For somebody whose debut performance was as a skunk in a school ballet, Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Anna Paquin has indeed come a long way.

The 27-year-old former child star of “The Piano” has moved on to prove that her Oscar Best Supporting Actress win was not a fluke. She chooses her roles very well, giving us memorable performances in a variety of genres, from films like “X-Men” and “The Squid and the Whale” to TV miniseries like the Emmy award-winning “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.”

Now as Sookie Stackhouse, the mind-reading vampire’s girl in the hit HBO series “True Blood,” she has also won a Globe. (And early this month, she was reported to be engaged to “True Blood” co-star Stephen Moyer.)

Excerpts from our interview with Anna at the Four Seasons Hotel:

Before you took on the role of Sookie, how familiar were you with the vampire world?

I was not familiar with it. I crammed and researched so I could sound like I knew what I was talking about at my auditions and do better at work.

We read that you fought hard for this.

Yes, it has not been my experience that people will cast you [even] if you don’t look exactly like the description on the page which, in this case, was blonde, tanned and Southern. I was very much dying to do the role. But I was pale and dark- haired and from New Zealand (laughter). Credit goes to director Alan Ball and the people at HBO.

Why do you think vampires are sexy?

It’s always the biting that is a metaphor for sex and intimacy. There’s definitely a sexual longing that is at the center of that. As in a relationship, you give a part of yourself to the other person and you feed off each other. It can be painful and ecstatic at the same time.

What’s it like working with your on-and-off-screen partner?

You actually see him occasionally.

Are you conscious that the audience knows that you and your onscreen partner are really in a relationship off screen?

I always hope that people will watch the work for what it is, not [just for] the behind-the-scenes story.

You mentioned that you love being in Sookie’s world. Can you talk of the changes in Season Two?

Last season, she was very tough. She was ballsy but she hadn’t really experienced much outside of her very small town, the bar she works in, and her family. Then her whole life changes when her grandmother dies and she meets this vampire. Now she’s in a new world and exotic trouble (laughs). She’s much tougher, always motivated to do the right thing... She’s grown up a lot in the three weeks we met her.

Do you hit the gym a little bit more, with the required body exposure?

I’ve always been pretty active. It’s not like I’m going to go eat a cheesecake and then take my clothes off (laughs) and sit on the couch all weekend eating French fries.

What do you need to go through to do your sex scenes?

I don’t know. We do it so often on our show (laughter)... I was never particularly uptight on nudity to begin with... By the time the camera has seen me naked more often than any of my doctors, why flatter myself to think they really care anymore? It’s still an 18-hour day no matter if they’re looking at naked people or not.

A graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Stephen founded his own Theatre Company “The Reject Society”, and began his professional acting career with two years of touring with the Oxford Stage presentation of “Romeo and Juliet”. He also toured with Peter Townsend’s rock opera “The Iron Man”, and made his screen debut in “Prince Valiant”. He is currently co-starring in the HBO hit series “True Blood”.

Stephen has a profound cosmic connection to the sign Libra, having five parts of his persona in that sign. His ego structure and vital energy is finely attuned to all that is beautiful, sociable, charming, refined, and elegant. Stephen seeks the affection of everyone around him, and would dislike to cause any conflict or unpleasantness in the atmosphere. His needs and emotional nature follow along the same lines, with an abundance of good humor added to that. Stephen’s mindset and intellect can produce the most original and inventive ideas, but he can be changeable and restless in his exchange of those ideas. He may have sudden flashes of insight from time to time, and would have an unconventional approach to his relationships. Stephen’s quality of artistic work is quite fastidious and analytical, with the urge to critique, discriminate and work out all the details. He has a very powerful and passionate loving nature, and would appreciate the mysterious and secretive in his love life. When Stephen reaches out to attain his goals, it is with caution and a business-like attitude, carefully structuring each step he takes with wisdom and high expectations that all will go well.

For the latter part of 2009 and into 2010, Stephen may be hard-pressed to polish his ideas and communicative skills, as he steps further up the ladder of success.

Guide To Libra Lovers

Ruled by Venus, these folk are programmed for love and some say that they are the most proficient lovers of all.

While extremely loving themselves they in turn need to be loved, so their partner should not refrain from showing and expressing their love and feelings toward them.
Libra’s worship romance and seduction, can be extremely flirtatious and know how to please, excite and tease. They can be outright sexual adventurers in the event their sex-life losses lustre and will readily look elsewhere. They tend to prefer a partner who takes the initiative so that a seductive partner who is prepared to worship them makes for an ideal combination.

The lower back and buttocks form the Libra erogenous area so a little fondling, patting and pinching in that area should soon arouse Libra for a romantic session.

Virgo Zodiac Sign - Guide To Virgo Lovers

The Virgo projects a cool and calming manner on the outside whereas inside they conceal a quite intensity and deep sensuality. Rarely idle, they are industrious and productive above all else.

They are very selective when choosing a lover. In sexual relationship they are extremely caring but somewhat controlling too, and have the capacity to make their partner feel the most wanted person on the earth.

They can be super-critical, obsessive with perfection, secretive, and are particularly attracted to cleanliness – traits they may sometimes be a dilemma in the relationship with their partner.

As a lover, the Virgo is highly discriminative, honorable, discreet and practical. They love genuine romance, praise, straightforward sex and a reliable partner who has intelligence as well as attractive physical attributes. They cannot tolerate gushy sentiment, crudeness or vulgarity and like their sex to be as tidy as possible.

The stomach area is the Virgo erogenous zone, so stroking, kissing and caressing this area is sure to arouse their passion for action.

New Moon Trailer #3

From Charliene Harris' blog....

Title to an awaited 10th Sookie Stackhouse Novel!!!

This has been a week of working, working, working as I try to bring DEAD IN THE FAMILY to a close. Lots of unexpected things happened, and I realized I have to cut a couple of characters I had big plans for, but I’ll save them for another book. It took me a while to realize what the theme of the book was, and when I realized it was about family – Eric’s, Sam’s, Sookie’s, Bill’s – suddenly everything became much easier.

Being Human S1 - Ep 1

Photobucket

The episode opens with our female lead Annie lying on the floor as blood pools around her head. Her voice-over informs us the the nature of death in this show. Annie died far younger than she was expecting to. Her narration continues as the scene now changes to Mitchell who is a soldier in World War One and is walking through a foggy forest when he comes upon a couple of Vampires feeding. Herrick turns to him and transforms.

The next shot is of Mitchell waking up in a pile of other dead bodies; he finds and feels a set of vampire teeth marks on his neck. The show then flashes on Mitchell in mordern day, looking at a World War I and II memorial. "For a vampire, death isn't the end; it's the beginning," Annie continues.

The scene shifts to a comparison of life after death for Annie and Mitchell. She explains that at least she was surrounded by her loved ones, unlike Mitchell. We see her shouting at her family and friends as none of them can see her and later sitting on a chair and giving the finger to a couple who walk in to view the apartment. Annie calls it a lonely existence. As she says this there is an abrupt shift to Mitchell and Lauren having sex with Lauren right before he feeds off of her. He later sits in the bed, with her corpse on the bed hitting himself in frustration.

"But then there are the ones like George. The ones that should have died." George is laying on the ground with a wound on his shoulder breathing heavily with someone even more wounded dying next to him. George dressed in a hospital gown, slowly disrobes as he enters a forest before transforming into a werewolf, screaming in agony as he does so.

The scene transitions from a shot of the werewolf George howling to a normal George in hospital scrubs sitting next to Mitchell. Later, Annie watches from a window as they unload their car before moving in.

"What happens to the flotsam and jetsam of death?" Annie asks, "Maybe, if we still deserve such a thing as mercy, we find eachother." She watches with a smile as George and Mitchell play around in the kitchen. Opening Credits.

A man delivers a pizza and Annie answers the door and the man can see her. She asks him a lot of questions before closing the door. She is so excited that people can now see her, she's happy that a man in a van saw her and called her a slag. She then asks who would like some tea only to have George go on a rant about how she makes so much tea already that they have no more mugs or tea even though she can't even drink it.

Mitchell and George head out for work and we find out that its a full moon which means he'll be transforming into the werewolf. They discuss this further in the locker room at work; there is an isolation room in the basement that they use. After George leaves, Mitchell notices something funny about one of the security monitors. He seems to know what the problem is.

There is a man, Seth, standing over one of the patience. Mitchell busts in and Seth informs Mitchell that Herrick wants to immprove their recruitment standards from tramps and people who fall asleep on the night bus to people with money and influence. Seth also informs Mitchell that turning Lauren was a good idea because she was easy on the eyes. Mitchell tells him to back away from the patient. Seth goes on about some of the things Mitchell used to do with Herrick - telling him to stop denying his nature. When the vampire unleashes his vangs, Mitchell pulls the him away. Seth leaves asking Mitchell how long it has been since he has fed and that he'll have to do so eventually.

George and a blond nurse are talking and he stops at a memorial for Lauren. The nurse was hired after she died. Mitchell comes up informing George that its almost time and he heads down to the isolation room only to find workers in there. There are renovations for that wing. George turns around and leaves abruptly.

Mitchell is having a coffee with the blond nurse from before. She is talking but he can't hear her, all he can hear is her blood pumping; his hand is shaking. She notices but he tells her that he just quit smoking before she quickly asks if he's seeing anyone and would like to go out with her sometime. Before he can answer, George finds him, informs him of the problem and they run off.

They are in a car arguing about where they get him out. George is going to run into some random bit of woods and transform but Mitchell wants him to go and do it in the House. George wants to keep it separate and runs off. Running through the forest, George keeps running into people and a creepy man who asks him what he's running from before he runs back out trying to find Mitchell who is waiting, worried. George gets into the car just before Mitchell leaves, telling him that he's right.

They burst back into the house and quickly start preparing, closing curtains and turning up the music up. They move all the breakable and valuable stuff up and out of the house. Annie wants to see the transformation and George finally agrees after some convincing from Mitchell who takes the tv and sits outside. Annie, with a vase in hand, stands in the kitchen and watches as George slowly and painfully transforms. She looks first horrified and then sad. After the transformation he peeks her head up and calls to the werefolf by name. It looks at her before growling and lunging. She quickly reappears outside with Mitchell.

Whey they come in the next morning, George is lying naked on the floor surrounded by the carnage that was once their apartment. Later he comes downstairs, clothed, to find Annie and Mitchell almost finished cleaning up. There is almost nothing left. Mitchell thinks they have to go to Ikea and is not happy about it. George tells them to go out and he'll finish up because its the least he could do.

Annie is very happy and its because Owen, her ex-fiance and their landlord, is coming round - immediately. He is back from Saudi and wants to meet his longest staying tenants. She has a list of questions she wants to know. George thinks this is a terrible idea because Owen knew her but before they could get into a bigger argument, the doorbell rings. Annie goes upstairs.

When Owen asks where the furniture, George explains that they were going for a more minimalist life. Owen thought they were just redecorating. Annie slips from her perch and thumps her foot down. Mitchell sends George to find out what that sound was. Alone, Owen talks to Mitchell about Annie, her death and what she was like. George comes back and explains the noises Annie made by saying there was a pigeon that he killed with his shoe. Owen leaves.

Herrick is at the hospital and doing magic tricks to a crowd. Mitchell pulls him away and asks what he and his vampires are doing at the hospital. Herrick denies this and asks Mitchell about the rules - who writes them and why do they follow them. As they talk, Mitchell explains why he became a vampire and that was to protect his men in the war. Herrick goes on about how humans have not done a good job of attending Eden before telling Mitchell that he misses when they hunted together and that people still admire him for that time despite his current attitude. Herrick can't understand why he's on the wagon since being a vampire is like being a shark - you kill to survive. Herrick tells Mitchell that everything is about to change and its going to change - the only thing they have to decide is which side they are on.

George asks Mitchell if he's going to Lauren's memorial service - he doesn't know the cause of her death was Mitchell. The blond nurse from before comes up and George notices that her shampoo has changed before awkwardly hitting on her. Mitchell notices that George is interested and says he'll help set them up - but George doesn't want it. George asks if Mitchell has seen his phone. We flash to Annie using his phone to get Owen to come by the house to fix the tap.

George goes toe the memorial service and afterward when he's washing his hands in an isolated area and Lauren comes up behind him - teasing him and unknowing that George knows about vampires and what not.Lauren is confused when George doesn't scream or weep before he asks her if Mitchell did this to her. She comes up close and smells him to confirm he is a werewolf before leaving calling it creepy.

George confronts Mitchell, punching him, and asking him why he bothers hiding when he becomes a werewolf if Mitchell is not going to try and stop himself from killing and turning their friends. Mitchell tells him that he doesn't have days off - that he has to kill to survive to which George responds, "What's the point then?". After he stalks off, the blond nurse comes up to Mitchell and asks to go out for a drink with her and he agrees.

There is a montage of Annie trying to figure out how to present herself to Owen but when Owen comes in, she can only hide behind the wall. It ends up he came with his new girlfriend, Janey and when Owen stands right in front of Annie, he can't see her. Once Owens' gone to the kitchen to check out the tap, George comes back and is surprised to find them there. It takes him a few seconds to figure out what happened. After Owen leaves, Annie has a breakdown about not being able to have him. She only gets the clothes that she died in and George. George comforts her, telling her about what happened when he saw his old girlfriend for the first time since he'd left and she was with someone else. He explains that he knows how it feels. Annie asks how he became a werewolf and he explains.

He was on a vacation in Scotland and one night he went out for a walk in the moors with someone else from the hotel he was staying at and it attacked them. It scratched George's shoulder and killed and ate the man he was with and before it could kill him, two men came with a gun and chased it off. The man died but George survived. He then asks her why Owen couldn't see her and she think it was the shock of seeing him - that it made her relapse into invisibility. She wants to know how she compares to Janey and George tells her that she is orange and that Annie is much prettier and nicer to which Annie adds much deader.

Later George is at the hospital and finds out from a nurse that Mitchell is out on a date with the blond nurse, who new now find out is Becca. George rushes off to make sure that Mitchell doesn't kill her. On the date Mitchell and Becca are discussing embarassing facts about themselves. She asks him how the quitting smoking is going and he tells her that once a smoker always a smoker - what's the point in fighting it. Lauren comes in Becca recognises her but can't say from where. Lauren keeps pushing, wanting Becca to recognise her before Mitchell pulls her outside and tells her that he can save her and that they can run away together.

Lauren doesn't want to be saved - she tells him how she wants to kill everyone even her family. Mitchell then thanks her for showing him how much he is not like them. He goes back into the bar and tells her that he has to leave and she is hurt but eventually accepts an offer to have him walk her to the station but not before she goes to the bathroom. George finds Lauren in the alleyway and she pushes him against the wall, suffocating him before throwing him to the ground. There he sees Becca, her throat has been slit and she is bleeding out onto the ground.

Mitchell comes out and finds them like this. Lauren demands that he save her by turning her and George begs him to save her but Mitchell won't. Later at the hospital, George is worried that the murder will be linked from Lauren back to them but Mitchell tells him that vampires have been around for thousands of years - that they have ways of dealing with this and the camera pans to Herrick and Seth talking with the police. As they are leaving, Mitchell gets stopped by Herrick asking him once more to join them but Mitchell declines.

Later, while Mitchell is sitting alone on the floor, George is telling Annie how different he now knows Mitchell is from the other vampires. Annie asks George if he thinks Mitchell should have saved her and he tells her that he did save her - by not turning her. George decides that they need to go to the pub, insisting on it, but Annie can't. She can't leave the house - there are monsters outside and she can't feel safe. She brings a cup of tea to Mitchell and sits with him. George goes to the sink to clean his bloodied shirt and the man from the woods is standing outside, watching him.
