New Spoilers From Ausielo

Question: I have to know — will this season of True Blood have the smokin’ hot Sookie/Eric shower scene featured in the book? Please say yes! —Sam
Ausiello:
Yes… and No. “There is a shower scene,” explains exec producer Alan Ball. “But it is not a direct re-enactment of the shower scene in the book. It goes to a slightly different place.” Emphasis on slightly. “Sookie and Eric are in the shower together,” confirms Ball, who assures me that, “Everybody who’s been waiting for Sookie and Eric to hook up, this will be a very good season for them.”

Question: Any more details on Scott Foley’s True Blood role? —Anna
Ausiello:
“He was Terry’s platoon leader in Iraq,” says Ball of Foley’s character, Patrick. “So they [share] a military history.” (Rumor has it Terry saved Patrick’s life not once but twice.) Foley will debut in the Season 4 finale and then recur throughout Season 5. Ball, meanwhile, confirms that a deal is not yet in place for him to return as showrunner for a fifth season. “I’m negotiating,” he says. Of course, HBO hasn’t renewed the show itself — but Ball isn’t worried. “There are no plans for this show to end,” he assures. “I’m pretty sure there will be at least one more season, if not more. It seems like it has a lot of life in it still.” That’s an understatement given the boffo ratings for Sunday’s premiere.

Question: In a recent Ask Ausiello, you said that there was a very subtle clue for “one of the biggest (literally and figuratively) twists in True Blood‘s history” in the linked trailer. Now that we’ve seen the premiere — and know the twist in question was the yearlong time jump — you have to reveal what the clue was! Was it that Eric said “for the past year” at the beginning of the trailer? —Nancy
Ausiello:
Nope. The clue was Tara declaring, “It’s been a while since I got attacked by a vampire, and guess what — it still sucks.” Had the show stuck with tradition — i.e. no time jump between seasons — it would’ve only been a few days since Tara’s deadly run-in with psycho vamp Franklin Mott.

Alcide Will Be Spoken For???

Joe Manganiello has dropped some hints about what will happen between Alcide and Sookie in True Blood.

The fourth season of the show premiered at the weekend but Alcide has not yet appeared.

However, he will return in the third episode, TV Guide reports.

Manganiello has now revealed that Alcide will be "spoken for" when he turns up again and explained that although Sookie (Anna Paquin) will be unhappy with the situation, she will ask him for help.

"The great thing about Sookie is that she drags him off on all these adventures," he said. "She's the key in unlocking that reluctant hero inside of him and he recognises that as a good thing."

Manganiello has previously revealed that the new season will explore more of Alcide's backstory.

Source: Digital Spy

Now if you read the books you would know that the woman that Alcide is spoken for would end up being Debbie Pelt. Yes, that crazy hopped up on V White trash biker werewolf is back with Alcide. Now in the books she was trying to make amends with Alcide, and he is just gullible enough to take her back (dumb move there), but she still hates Sookie and then it was revealed that she partook in the torture of Bill at Russell's and that she attempted to kill Sookie so Alcide abjures her, which is the worst thing another were can do to you!! Well in the show we last saw Debbie attempt to kill Sookie and after a serious bitch fight, Debbie ended up getting a sort of joker makeover from Sookie slicing her face with scissors and she jumps out the bedroom window turning into a wolf and runs away. So hmmmm, how do you think this is going to play out?!

Alan Ball Will Stay For Season 5

True Blood's executive producer Alan Ball has revealed that he has not yet signed up for a fifth season of True Blood.

The show's fourth run premiered at the weekend but Ball told TV Line that he is still in talks to remain on the series next year.

"I'm negotiating," he explained.

Ball also revealed that he is confident about the future of True Blood even though it has not yet been officially renewed for a fifth season by HBO.

"There are no plans for this show to end," he said. "I'm pretty sure there will be at least one more season, if not more. It seems like it has a lot of life in it still."

We Will Havw A Shower Scene!!!!

True Blood's executive producer Alan Ball has dropped some hints about an upcoming shower scene on the show.

In the Charlaine Harris novels upon which the series is based, Sookie and Eric have a sex scene in the bathroom.

Ball has now teased that the couple, played by Anna Paquin and Alexander Skarsgård, will have a similar moment in the fourth season.

"There is a shower scene," he told TV Line. "But it is not a direct re-enactment of the shower scene in the book. It goes to a slightly different place."

However, Ball added: "Sookie and Eric are in the shower together. Everybody who's been waiting for Sookie and Eric to hook up, this will be a very good season for them."

Paquin's husband Stephen Moyer, who plays Bill on the show, has previously revealed that he would like to see a relationship between Sookie and Eric.

Chris Bauer Talks Andy Bellefluer

Chris Bauer has suggested that the fourth season of True Blood will surprise viewers.

Bauer, who plays Andy, claimed that it is "an especially great year for the fans".

"It's just a really nice kind of ideal combination of all the highlights of the first three seasons in terms of story, character and sensibility," he told the New York Post.

"There's some great twists where people you've come to know a certain way reveal something about themselves that are genuinely surprising. It's one of the glories of making it to the fourth season - we can start to play with your expectations of the characters and really surprise you with where they go."

Bauer also dropped some hints about what is to come for Andy, saying: "This year, Andy makes great strides towards evolving in a little more complicated way and finding out his biographical detail and getting him involved more with others."

However, he joked that he does not want to have any nude scenes on the show.

"I have been cold staring at my trainer asking when these last ten pounds are coming off because, no pun intended, I do not want to get caught with my pants down!" he said. "And honest to God, we had a read-through of the 12th episode the other day and between Ryan [Kwanten], Alex Skarsgård, Joe Manganiello and Steve Moyer... anyone would just give up and go straight to McDonalds. It's impossible to compete with those guys."

Alan Ball Defends Premeire Twist

True Blood creator Alan Ball has explained the decision to employ a time-jump on the show.

In last night's fourth season premiere, Sookie (Anna Paquin) returned from the fairy world to discover that a year had passed in Bon Temps.

Ball told TV Line: "We wanted to get all of our characters into somewhat of a new place. To give Jason (Ryan Kwanten) time to have actually become a sheriff's deputy. To have Bill (Stephen Moyer) be the king. To have Arlene (Carrie Preston)'s baby be born."

He continued: "We were talking about Sookie being in Fairyland... and it seemed like a really organic way to kickstart the show so that it would be in a new place when she got back."

The showrunner also defended the decision to have Tara (Rutina Wesley) become a lesbian in the time gap.

"Look at Tara's history with men," he suggested. "If anybody has a reason to try something new, I think she does. It didn't seem like it was that outlandish given her history and who the character was."

Ball added that Rutina Wesley was "totally willing" to explore a different side to her character.

"I count my blessings with this cast all of the time because everybody is pretty fearless," he said. "Everybody is pretty game to do just about anything."

Tara's Little Twist.....

True Blood star Rutina Wesley has described the twist involving her character as "great".

In last night's fourth season premiere, Tara was revealed to be dating another woman (Vedette Lim), despite previous relationships with Eggs and Franklin.

Wesley told EW: "I don't think she was expecting it. I think it just happened.

"I think it was one of those things where you just fall in love with who you fall in love with. I don't think she labels herself as one thing or the next. She just started hanging out and the next thing you know, she was in love."

Wesley added that she believes the new relationship will be good for Tara.

"I think... she's finally ready for it," she said. "I think she's finally going to love herself in a way that is beautiful. Her self-esteem is back up, and that's opened her up to love someone else.

"I think she also needed a new lease on life. She totally comes back more zen, and she's a feisty season one Tara who we all loved."

Alcide Has More Backstory

Joe Manganiello has revealed that his character on True Blood will have a bigger role this season.

Manganiello, who portrays werewolf Alcide on the HBO series, stated that viewers will get to see more of his life from before he met Sookie (Anna Paquin), according to the New York Post.

Manganiello said: "They brought in some of his backstory - how hard it was for him growing up as a werewolf."

The 34-year-old went on to state that it is his character's inherent loneliness that attracts him to Sookie.

Manganiello explained: "What a lonely existence is it to not truly be able to open up to other people, besides werewolves?

"To meet someone else with an ability they didn't necessarily want gave him another person to open up with, which is really attractive to someone like him."

In mid-June, Manganiello promised that the coming season of True Blood will feature more fighting, stating that the tensions among werewolves will run high.

The actor previously admitted that he finds the workout regime for the HBO series to be a pain, claiming that it is important for him that the character appears to be real

Producer Teases About Witches

True Blood executive producer Alexander Woo has claimed that the show's fourth season will see the vampires face their toughest threat yet.

The new season will see a coven of witches introduced as part of the main storyline, and Woo has said that the coven leader Marnie, portrayed by Harry Potter star Fiona Shaw, will become the 'big bad' of the series.

"I'd say the witches certainly pose the greatest threat to the vampires that we've seen yet," Woo revealed to The Hollywood Reporter. "I think what [the witch coven] represents is the power of the human and sort of the power of life.

"[Whereas vampires] represent death and it's the contrast of life versus death, with human versus vampire, that I think is the crux of this season," he continued.

Shaw herself said that viewers will initially see her character as a relatively meek housewife, but will soon learn that she is much more than that.

"She's pretty bad, but she's also pretty good," Shaw explained. "She's a pathetic person who becomes very powerful and maybe starts to abuse her power.

"[She] goes after pretty well anyone who crosses her path."

The new season sees the introduction of several new guest stars, including Scott Foley, Katherine Helmond, Courtney Ford, Dane DeHaan, Janina Gavankar, Alexandra Breckenridge, Vedette Lim, Daniel Raoul and Gary Cole.

This Sunday, Season 4 of HBO's True Blood kicks off and IGN's here to give you a primer on the summer's new episodes. Now, let's face it: this show is divisive. You're kind of either "in," or "out." And with two disappointing season finales in a row, the Bon Temp ball's pretty much in Sookie's court to try and win back some of the support this show's lost over the past year.

So we're always ready to give a show a second chance. And a third. I mean, despite Season 3's lack of payoff, it did set up a few interesting things for this year; the big one being Sookie and Bill being over and done with. So let's take a look at 10 "fangtastic" (can I even use that word in this context?) things to look for this season. Yes, 10 reasons to check out all the undead hunks, southern spitfires, Cajun wolves, meth-addict panthers and magical fairies of Season 4!

HollywoodLife Talks To Ryan Kwanten About Jason's Troubles.......

It’s going to be a nail-biting season for fans of True Blood‘s Jason Stackhouse, as the Southern charmer finds himself in more danger than ever — or as Ryan Kwanten tells HollywoodLife.com, he’ll be “very much at death’s door.” And even worse than Jason’s possible death, fans will also be sad to hear that he’ll be taking “a little break” from all the shirtless action they’re used to.

Fans of Charlaine Harris‘ novels are fully aware that [SPOILER ALERT] Jason gets kidnapped and turned into a were-panther — and while Ryan wisely avoids confirming that big secret, he does confirm that Jason “quickly finds himself in a position he may not be able to get out of.”

Now let’s talk about the shirtless elephant in the room. How much skin will Jason be showing this season?

Not much by Jason, actually. A lot of the other boys try their hand at it, though. Believe me, I’m not totally off the radar on that front, but compared to previous seasons, it is a little break.

How does Jason and Crystal’s relationship progress over the course of season four?

She’s very much under a spell, for lack of a better phrase. And Jason’s so in love with this girl that he goes along with it for a little while, but he very quickly finds himself in a position he may not be able to get out of.

Are you familiar with their relationship in the books, or with the books in general?

To a certain point. To be honest, I only read two-and-a-half of the books before I realized that Alan Ball and the rest of the team of writers were doing a very TV savvy version. So in terms of my acting, reading the books didn’t help too much. I didn’t want to know what was going to happen in the future.

We’ve also seen some crazy fairy action in previews. Does Jason get to play with them?

He does not deal with them, certainly in the first half in the season. He’s got his fair share of other things to deal with.

10 Potential Spoilers For Season 4

True Blood - Bill, Eric and Sookie Pictures, Images and Photos

True Blood has brought witches, werewolves and vampires to life over the last three seasons, but everything you think you know about the supernatural beings will be upended this season.

"Everything you thought you can count on, you can't," executive producer Alan Ball says. "Vampires are not stronger than certain humans, shapeshifters can do things other than shift and there are ghosts."

Here are 10 things we do know about what's coming up, straight from the cast of True Blood:

1. It's all about the witches: A band of witches tap into a new form of power, causing Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) to lose his memory. At the head of the coven is Marnie (Fiona Shaw), a vengeful witch coming into her powers and out for revenge. Unfortunately for Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis), he will be dragged into the increasing vampire vs. witch tension. "Lafayette loves his boyfriend, [Jesus, a practicing brujo], so he's trying to deal with [magic] in stride, but it keeps sucking him in and he doesn't know what's going on," Ellis says. "He discovers who he is in the middle of all this stuff."

2. Sookie, independent woman: After discovering that Bill (Stephen Moyer) was working for Queen Sophie-Anne to gain information on her, Sookie is "learning to stand on her own," Anna Paquin says. "At the end of last season, she was at a point where she was willing to walk away from everyone and everything, particularity those troublesome boys. It's not that she doesn't want or need anyone, she just isn't dependant anymore." That's OK for Bill, though. "Bachelorhood kind of turns out all right for Bill," Moyer says. "He's decided to enjoy it while he can."

3. Vampires in trouble: Eric's unfortunate run-in with the witches will send his lieutenant, Pam (Kristin Bauer), into a downward spiral, which is bad timing in the current vampire climate. "The post-Russell Edginton world is hard for Pam," Bauer says. "It's a political environment this year, so she's supposed to be doing what the other vampires are doing — holding babies and shaking hands — but she's incapable. So we see her cause some trouble."

4. Tara returns as a new woman: After getting out of Dodge in the season finale, Tara (Rutina Wesley) will return to Bon Temps hoping to turn over a new leaf, but will immediately find herself in a mess of trouble. "She gets swept back into the world of vampires so quickly," Rutina says. "She doesn't want it, but she has no choice." Fortunately, there may be hope for her yet. "If there was to be love for Tara, I think she's ready for it because I think she's learned to love herself and has opened up in a way."

5. Shifty shapeshifters: The days of Sam (Sam Trammell) turning into a dog or bird are child's play compared to what he'll do this season. "My character explains the full-range of capabilities that shapeshifters have, and a lot of people that she's talking to at the time don't even know some of that," says Janina Gavankar, who'll be a love interest for Sam this season. "There's a really dark side to shapeshifters as well and that's something we'll explore this year. There's potential wrongdoings that can happen."

6. Jessica, domesticated? Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and Hoyt (Jim Parrack) will make a go of living together, but a human and a vampire cohabitating isn't going to be easy. "Jessica is a vampire and I'm not quite sure that domestic life is really what she's in for or what she desires," Woll says. "She's still gotta figure that out because they moved into this very quickly." Helping her navigate this life is Pam, who acts as a "big bad" older sister, says Bauer. "Pam is a very different kind of mentor for Jess than Bill is," Woll adds. "The things you might not want to tell your dad, you may tell your cool aunt."

7. Jason's growing up: Once the older slacker brother of Sookie, Jason (Ryan Kwanten) has now stepped into a role of responsibility that will get him into even more trouble. "This is the season of the biggest growth for Jason, where the young boy turns into a man," Kwanten says. "He's forced to try and raise a tribe of people and eventually fight for his life."

8. PD's into V: The end of last season teased impending trouble for Andy (Chris Bauer) when it comes to V, otherwise known as vampire blood, an addictive drug that can ruin your life (See: Jason Stakchouse, Debbie Pelt and the rest of the werewolves from Season 3). "It's like old demons, new problems," Bauer says of Season 4 for Andy. "At first V does a lot of good. He had that cast on forever, but after a couple of drops, all of a sudden he's ready to box. He's a guy who we know has issues with substance, and he keeps saying he's done, but he's not done."

9. Arlene and Terry tackle parenthood: As if Arlene (Carrie Preston) could ever be the voice of reason, she's especially on edge this season. "I wouldn't be playing Arlene correctly if I wasn't playing her fully, fully stressed out," Preston says. "When you're talking about a child or potential child, and you're talking about it having a father that was a serial killer, in Arlene's mind, she's absolutely justified in freaking out. Luckily, Arlene has found Terry [Todd Lowe], who will put up with all her insecurities." On a possibility related note, Preston adds, "Arlene is going to come face-to-face with something that we haven't even seen on the show yet."

10. Debbie's back, baby: Alcide's psychopathic, V-addicted ex-girlfriend, Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan), will return this season with a new prerogative. "You're going to get to see a different side of Debbie," Morgan says, adding that Debbie will attempt to make amends with Sookie and find some normalcy. But the werewolf in her isn't gone. "You're going to get to see cool things with some of the wolves that you didn't get to see last season," she says.

What are you most excited for this season?

In 3 Days.......

Stephen Moyer Talks With PopEater

I love that the show isn't really a vampire show.
Me and Ryan (Kwanten) for the first year and a half when anybody asked us about it we would say it's not a vampire show. It's hard to say it isn't a vampire show but I think it's about Bon Temps, it's about Sookie and it's about how the rest of the town and the rest of humanity react to having vampires or something else in their midst and that's a metaphor for anything that you want it to be. I think it's a bloody good drama that happens to have vampires in it.

Does playing someone from the 19th century with old world manners make you more polite around women?
No, I try and get them to do everything for me. I do it for like 14, 15 hours a day on set and I'm a bastard off set. I don't think so, I'm English and we come from a place where that's very much part of your existence. I think I've got fairly good manners but I wouldn't want to eat with me.

Are you very English with what you eat? Baked beans on toast, Marmite?
Definitely Marmite, not your fu**ing Vegemite crap.

How dare you!
I was making breakfast for my daughter this morning and I was like, 'Cereal or toast?' and she called out, 'Marmite on toast!' I've got a brilliant website that I found where I can watch all the cricket, I follow the English football season very closely, but I've embraced America, I really enjoy baseball. I love it here.

Are you like a girl with dieting for all your shirtless scenes?
Oh it's a nightmare. What's interesting is and I think this is a good way of looking at dieting, is that I'm only having to steer clear of that for now. So I'm not giving it up forever because I want to be fit and healthy and look good for this particular thing, it doesn't mean I'm not going to be able to have mashed potatoes immediately after we finish that scene. When I first started doing it I found it really difficult but now I've looked at it like that, so those three or four weeks when I'm being really super healthy, I'm like this is fun. I enjoy it.

What's the first food you turn to after those scenes?
Spaghetti bolognese. In England we call it spag bowl.

Lots of grated cheese on top?
Oh yeah, a sh*t load.

Alan Ball Loved Working With Denis O'Hare

Alan Ball has revealed that he particularly enjoyed working with actor Denis O'Hare on True Blood last year.

The True Blood creator praised O'Hare's performance as the vampire Russell Edgington on the HBO series, the Los Angeles Times reports.

"Once we started breaking the stories for the season, we were saying, 'Who's going to play [Russell Edgington]?'" Ball said. "I can't remember who came up with [Denis O'Hare], but everybody was like, 'Oh we love him, he's such a great actor'. I called him and said, 'Would you like to do this?'"

Ball continued: "Denis is a great actor. He would send me these long emails of his back story that he was coming up with and I would say, 'Well, this all works except for this thing because in four episodes this is going to happen so it has to be this kind of thing'. He was just a delight from beginning to end."

In February, O'Hare revealed that he might be returning to True Blood for the series' fourth season, stating that he appreciates the support he receives from the showrunners.

It was recently reported that Ball may be leaving the HBO series. He said that he is not sure if he can commit to the show beyond a fifth year.

Get a full day's rest, take a drop of V from Lafayette, and invite plenty of vamps

Yield:

A Cajun breakfast with a supernatural twist

The Menu:

If you're going to hang with the vampires of northern Louisiana's Area 5, you'll be getting up at dusk, so why not have breakfast for dinner? Life does, after all, begin after dark. We've created a menu that's high in iron, offers a bit of spice, and features sausage, as that's what Sookie Stackhouse first tastes after drinking vampire blood. "It's like I can close my eyes and I can see the farm the pig lived on, and feel the sun and the rain on my face, and even taste the earth that the herbs grew out of," she tells Granny.

Naturally, we included some blood (in the form of Bloody Mary soup—don't forget to garnish with spiced beans and pickled okra); a tropical-fruit salad the maenad Maryann Forrester would have, well, she has, died for; and some chili powder–infused home fries sure to find their way on to the Merlotte's menu. For Tara, we added an Eggs Benedict Bread Pudding, and we end the meal with a nod to Sookie and Jason's beloved Granny—a Texas/west Louisiana take on pecan pie using cane syrup. Steen's, please!

Party Tips:

Complete your gathering with a sexy soundtrack of vampy music. Cue up Jace Everett ("Bad Things"), Concrete Blonde's "Bloodletting," New Orleans' moody Hurray for the Riff Raff, and the Knife (a Swedish duo whose album Deep Cuts–especially the single "Heartbeats"–is certainly on Eric Northman's Fangtasia playlist). Give the party an authentic feel with Ramblers.

Serve this menu with plenty of Abita beer and TruBlood. Sam's coffee works, too.

Meet the New Cast of Season 4

Source:The Vault

Complex.com Interviews Alan Ball On True Blood

Going into this new season, Season Four, it seems like you’re taking it back to the more Bon Temps-based nature of Season Two, with a new character coming into the town and raising all kinds of hell.

Well, it is like that, in that there is some person shaking things up at home, and all of Season Four takes place in Bon Temps or Shreveport; nobody goes anywhere. In Season Two, the vampires did go to Dallas, and there was all of the stuff with the Fellowship of the Sun, but everybody ended up in Bon Temps; this year, everybody pretty much stays at home.

There are less new characters then there were last season probably. And there’s something kind of fun about taking some of your characters, sticking them in a plane, and flying them off somewhere new, where they’re sort of fish out of water. But I basically just go wherever the story takes us. I work with five other writers, and we try to figure out interesting stories that will challenge all of our regular characters in new and interesting ways, and force them to change and grow, sometimes for the better and sometimes not. We always want to keep the show fresh and not make it seem like we’re just treading water.

Denis O’Hare made Russell such a huge presence on the show last season, giving it a villain that actually topped the second season’s antagonist, Maryann. Did you put extra focus on making this season’s primary villain, the witch Marnie, even more impactful?

She has very big shoes to fill, yeah. We were very fortunate that we got the great Irish actress Fiona Shaw, who is one of the premier Shakespearean actresses of hers and any other generation. We needed somebody of that depth, because her character starts off very mousy and unassuming but all kinds of stuff happens to her, and we needed somebody who could go to these epic places, and she totally does that.

Through her character, True Blood will explore the world of witches this season, coming off last season’s werewolf angle and the previous one’s maenad. You mentioned earlier that you’re becoming well-versed in genre terms and monsters. Looking ahead, are there any creatures or supernatural villains that you’d particularly like to introduce, even if they’re not featured in the books?

Yeah, absolutely. We’ve done a lot of the familiar ones, but one of the things I loved about the second book was the idea of the maenad, and what that was. You don’t really hear much about maenads and what they are, so I’m hoping in seasons hence that we’ll find some more lesser-known supernatural creatures, to figure out what’s going on with them.

But this year, actually, we have a whole bunch of them; we have witches, an interesting twist on shape-shifting that gets played out over the course of the season. There are disembodied spirits; I hesitate to call them “ghosts,” so I call them “spirits without hosts.” The magic demon that overtook Jesus (Kevin Alejandro) last season and scared the hell out of Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) comes back a bit more. So there’s all kinds of fun stuff this year, in addition to werewolves and vampires.

One of this season’s new characters that plays into the shape-shifter plotline is played by Janina Gavankar, who we recently shot in a rather sexy graveyard set-up. What struck you about her?

She’s great. We were casting a love interest for Sam (Sam Trammell), and so we were definitely looking for attractive women. We wanted a woman who’d have some Hispanic/Native American characteristics, and, even though I believe Janina is more Indian, she had the right physical characteristics. She’s really good—she has a really nice mix of total backbone and vulnerability. She fit right into the show from day one, and she’s also beautiful.

Katherine Helmond has signed up to play a recurring role on HBO's True Blood.

Helmond will play Caroline, the grandmother of Sheriff Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) and his sister Portia (Courtney Ford), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the original Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris, Caroline dislikes vampires and clashes with Sookie (Anna Paquin).

Who's The Boss star Helmond will play the role in two episodes of the upcoming fourth season.

The actress starred on ABC sitcom Soap from 1977 to 1981 and played Mona Robinson on Who's The Boss from 1984 to 1992. She also played a recurring role on Everybody Loves Raymond between 1996 and 2004, and will voice the character of Lizzie in upcoming film animation Cars 2.

It was recently announced that Grey's Anatomy actor Scott Foley will appear as military veteran Patrick in the new season of True Blood.

Pam Gets Ownn Storyline In True Blood

Kristin Bauer has revealed that she was very excited to shoot the fourth season of True Blood.

The actress, who portrays the vampire Pam on the HBO series, stated that she was excited to return to True Blood because her character is getting her very own storyline, the New York Post reports.

"I found out fairly early on that Pam is getting her own crazy storyline this season, which ramps up in the middle of the season," said Bauer. "That was very exciting for me because I knew that it would show everyone a different side of Pam, which is a bit of a challenge for me, but also so great."

Bauer went on to state that the witches, who erase the vampire Eric Northman's (Alexander Skarsgård) memory, will be formidable foes on the fourth season of the HBO series.

"This year the witches are pretty dangerous. If you can weave magic and have malintent, you can do some damage," said Bauer. "What's great about the way they've written the witches in this season is that what they do creates pretty interesting dilemmas for the vampires. It's not a typical arm wrestle. It's pretty creative how they have to combat one another."

Bauer recently promised that Pam will become more "edgy" on the HBO series, stating that viewers will see a different side of the character.

Reading Eagle Interviews out favorite Shape Shifter, Same Trammel

Sam Trammell is ready for some serious shape-shifting

It's time again for the rivers of blood to flow and the naked bodies to glisten.

Yes, "True Blood" fans, your favorite show is about to kick off its fourth season. It will all start on Sunday on HBO, and Sam Trammell can't wait.

Trammell, of course, stars as the shape-shifter Sam Merlotte alongside Anna Paquin as the telepathic barmaid Sookie, Stephen Moyer as the vampire Bill Compton, Marshall Allman as Sam's younger brother, Tommy, and several other actors and actresses who portray the series' assorted people and creatures.

"There's so much I want to tell everyone, and so much I'm not allowed to say," Trammell said cautiously. "Usually we're allowed to talk about things, but this season there are just a couple of big things that I'm not allowed to even bring up. We're always reinventing ourselves as a show, so there are a lot of new characters this year, and, yes, there will be plenty of skin, and I'm sure we've already gone through gallons and gallons of blood. What else can I tell you without getting myself in trouble?

"Last season, by the end of it, Sam was in a real state," the actor continued. "His buttons had been pushed by many people, and it ended in this eruption where I beat up that were-panther, started drinking, and I had a flashback to when I killed a couple of people, and I was betrayed by a girl I was seeing and committing petty crimes with. Hung over, still kind of reliving that flashback, I went to Tommy's house, saw that he was gone, suspected that he may have stolen the safe with all of my money, and chased him down."

Viewers then saw Sam fire his gun and nothing more.

"What you didn't see is whether or not I shot Tommy," Trammell said, speaking by telephone from his Los Angeles home, "and what had happened with Sam is that he basically took two steps back. He'd gone to Bon Temps to start a new life, and no one knew about this side of him, where he had a criminal background and these anger issues.

"So in Season 4 I'm dealing with that eruption that happened at the end of Season 3 and also with Sam's past catching up with him," he said. "It's going to be cool, because we'll see more of this shape-shifter community I've met, who are helping me deal with my issues, with all of the betrayal in my life, especially from my first adopted family leaving me because I was a shape-shifter. With this community I can talk about shape-shifting and heal myself a bit.

"And it'll be cool for the audience, because they'll learn a little more about shape-shifting, things we didn't know about the mythology."

Even better, Sam will be getting a love interest during Season 4 - and, no shocker, she'll be a shape-shifter. Janina Gavankar, late of "The Gates" (2010), will play the character, a, pardon the pun, shapely schoolteacher named Luna.

"Luna is a very interesting character, and Sam is very attracted to her," Trammell said. "She's not just beautiful, but she's also mysterious. She's like Sam in the sense that she doesn't want to reveal a lot about herself, about her past or who she is. Throughout the season those secrets start to reveal themselves to Sam, and some of them put Sam in danger.

New York Post Interview with True Blood's Ryan Kwanten

Ryan Kwanten: Jason's in quite a dire state this season

Just when it looked like the world had seen every side of Jason Stackhouse -- mostly the backside, but I digress -- actor Ryan Kwanten teases that "True Blood" season four bathes Bon Temps' resident himbo in an entirely new light: one of maturity and responsibility.

But don't mistake those adjectives for "boring" synonyms. In fact, seeing this new side of Jason reinforces just how far the character has come since the series premiere, which outfitted him in nothing more than a sock. And not the kind that goes on your foot.

Taking Jason from horizontal mambo to upstanding citizen has been one of the greatest experiences of Ryan's career -- but he's even more enthusiastic about the unique hurdles that lie ahead in season four!

PopWrap: What excites you about this new season?

Ryan Kwanten: Jason started so low on the evolutionary rung that he can only improve as a person. This season is the biggest jump in his growth because he has got to man-up and use the skills, however limited they may be, that he’s acquired in his life to survive, look after an entire village of people and to keep his wits about him in many life & death situations. I thought they were poking and prodding me and pulling me in a bunch of different directions the first three seasons, but this year takes it to a whole new level.

PW: How much fun have you had showing all these sides to of a character that many people wrote off as one-dimensional at first?

Ryan: Well, I can only take so much credit – almost all the praise rests on the shoulders of Alan [Ball] & his phenomenal writers. The layers they give Jason are extraordinary. What’s great and amusing to me is that I like how quickly people are to make snap judgments on his character because he is that local lothario who is being led by his nether regions. I think when you look deeper into the reason why he does things, there’s a great insecurity that stems from a need to be loved. A need to be accepted. And I think everyone knows what that feels like.

L.A. Times Interviews The Sexy Sweden Native, Alexander Skarsgard

‘True Blood’ star Alexander Skarsgard on Eric: ‘There has to be an element of danger’

Viking vampire sheriff Eric Northman plays a major role in the fourth season of HBO’s hit series “True Blood,” which kicks off Sunday — after losing his memory at the hands of a coven of witches, he has to turn to telepathic barmaid/fairy Sookie Stackhouse for help. Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard has gained a fervent following for his portrayal of the icy, sexy vamp, and he recently sat down for an interview with Hero Complex contributor Gina McIntyre to talk about what’s ahead for Eric and the character’s relationships with Anna Paquin‘s Sookie and Kristin Bauer van Straten‘s sardonic Pam.

GM: Were you excited about Eric’s story line heading into this season?

AS: I was excited. It was quite different from what we’ve seen before. It’s been difficult because he doesn’t … it was difficult finding the right tone. He doesn’t know who he is, so all that baggage is gone, 1,000 years of resentment and bitterness, the whole, like, loathing humanity kind of stuff is gone. But there has to be an element of danger there still. I didn’t want him to become too much of a little puppy. It was about finding that balance, because he has to be extremely vulnerable now. [It] is great to see Eric, who’s usually the alpha male, pretty vulnerable — to find that while maintaining the element of danger there. I don’t think it would be fun to watch him for very long if he was completely emasculated.

GM: You actually get the opportunity to try some comedy in the first three episodes.

AS: I had fun with it. It was just important to make it real. The humor had to come out of the situations more than him trying to be funny. It’s that culture clash, someone who doesn’t really know who he is — Are you my progeny? Who are you to me? — trying to figure things out. Obviously there’s an opportunity to create some funny situations with that.

GM: And obviously his relationship with Sookie is undergoing a bit of a change.

AS: She’s seeing this different side of Eric now, but it can’t be like she hated the old Eric, and now it’s the new guy and she likes the new guy and then he goes back to the old guy and she hates him. It has to be more complicated, more of a gray zone than that. It was just important for us to realize that it’s not like a completely different Eric. It is a different side of the same guy. She knows that, and that creates a platform for some drama, I think, because she knows who he is and she knows that he’s dangerous and what he’s done in the past, but then she’s seeing this vulnerability and there’s goodness in there. I think she already saw that in Season 3, a little glimmer of hope there, and now she’s exploring it more. But I think it’s important to remember that that was already inside Eric, but he had this big wall built up around himself to protect himself.

True Blood Season 4 Premiere Red Carpet and After Party

Hollywood was the place to be last night for excitement with the cast of True Blood at the season 4 premiere. There were many firmilar faces as well as a few new faces that attended the event and all were looking absolutly astonishing. Even Charline Harris, writer of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, was there in attendance as well as the creator of the hot smoking hit HBO show, Alan Ball. Of course what would a True Blood premiere be without Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse), her real life husband and co-star Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton), Alexander Skarsgard (Eric Northman), and Joe Manganiello(Alcide) who was accompanied by his fiancee. There were many other firmiliar faces like Rutina Wesley (Tara Thornton) and her beau, Sam Tremell (Sam Merlotte) and his very pregnant wife, the loveable Nelson Ellis (Lafyette Renolds), and our favorite baby vamp Deborah Ann Woll (Jessics Hamby) are just to name a few who arrived on the red carpet. Like I said earlier, there were some fresh new faces on the red carpet as well, Janina Gavanker (Luna), Fiona Shaw (Marnie), and Courteny Ford (Portia BellBfleur) with her Superman of a hubby Brandon Routh just to name a few. Yes, the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, CA was definatly the place to be last night! Below are videos, photos, and links from the exciting event:
