Alan Ball Loved Working With Denis O'Hare
Alan Ball has revealed that he particularly enjoyed working with actor Denis O'Hare on True Blood last year.
The True Blood creator praised O'Hare's performance as the vampire Russell Edgington on the HBO series, the Los Angeles Times reports.
"Once we started breaking the stories for the season, we were saying, 'Who's going to play [Russell Edgington]?'" Ball said. "I can't remember who came up with [Denis O'Hare], but everybody was like, 'Oh we love him, he's such a great actor'. I called him and said, 'Would you like to do this?'"
Ball continued: "Denis is a great actor. He would send me these long emails of his back story that he was coming up with and I would say, 'Well, this all works except for this thing because in four episodes this is going to happen so it has to be this kind of thing'. He was just a delight from beginning to end."
In February, O'Hare revealed that he might be returning to True Blood for the series' fourth season, stating that he appreciates the support he receives from the showrunners.
It was recently reported that Ball may be leaving the HBO series. He said that he is not sure if he can commit to the show beyond a fifth year.
