David Gallagher has signed up for a guest role in The Vampire Diaries.
The actor will appear in the first two episodes of the show's upcoming third season, TV Line reports.
He is expected to play a werewolf called Ray Sutton who meets Klaus (Joseph Morgan) in Tennessee.
The team behind The Vampire Diaries reportedly cast Gallagher after being impressed by his role in the movie Super 8.
Gallagher also previously starred as Simon in 7th Heaven and has had guest roles in shows including Numb3rs, Smallville, Bones and Without A Trace.
The Vampire Diaries will return for its third season on September 15 on The CW.
